Texture Packs

So, see Minecraft for the first time and you go, "Wow, this game has pretty crap graphics."

First of all, eff off, the graphics are fine (except for the cobblestone texture) and second of all you can actually change the game's graphics.

They're called Texture Packs, they're free and they're rather easy to install once you get them:






As for getting them, there is an entire Mapping and Modding forum on the official forums.
